Certified RDI® Program Consultant
Certified EFT Practitioner/Emotional Success Coach
An autism Mom herself, Sue has experienced the tremendous heartache and challenge associated with parenting an ASD child while having a career. As a result of becoming dangerously close to burnout, she discovered the hard way that improving a Mom’s health and wellbeing literally compounds a family’s efforts to build their child’s cognitive, social and emotional development. She is passionate about supporting parents to take back their power, feel competent as guides to their ASD child, and experience the joy of true connection!
Warm and personable, yet still a straight talker, Sue offers a unique blend of RDI and coaching for the guides themselves. A trained coach is an advocate, a sounding board, an accountability partner, a truth teller and a supporter. Through the process of working with Sue, you will become keenly aware of your strengths and values, and work at a pace that is comfortable, but yields results based on your goals. Parents appreciate Sue’s humour and dedication, and find their journey highly rewarding and empowering.
Sue is keenly aware of the highs and lows of being a parent – let alone the parent of an ASD child. She is highly effective in helping parents to stay motivated, and to shift unhealthy patterns that inevitably develop in family systems. She offers Emotional Freedom Techniques, also known as “tapping” – an evidence-based form of energy psychology — to reduce the intensity of stress and anxiety, and to cultivate a more positive and productive mindset.
“Working with Sue Simmons is the single most important thing I have done for my family’s well-being. Her passion for helping families, her knowledge, experience, insight and dedication and truly exceptional. She brings a holistic approach, based in current research and best practice, as well as deep sympathy in helping me identify and shift negative patterns within my family. And she supports me in finding a healthy, productive balance in my own life.”
